Christian Castro has spent his entire adult life in service to this country. He enlisted in the Army Reserve in 1992, at 18 years old, and served on active duty from 2001 to 2007. In 2003 he deployed to Iraq with Operation Iraqi Freedom, serving a year overseas as a sergeant responsible for six soldiers. He holds the rank of E-5, sergeant.
In 2013 he began his career in federal law enforcement with the United States Border Patrol, stationed in Harlingen, in the Rio Grande Valley — the same part of Texas where he has made his home and his life.
Outside the uniform, Christian is a martial artist and a teacher. He has volunteered his time as a coach at Kim Tae Kwon Do and White Tigers Tae Kwon Do in Harlingen, training students of every age, from small children to adults. His impact didn’t stop with the kids. When mothers in the community asked for guidance, he launched dedicated physical conditioning and fitness training for them as well, simply because that’s who he is. Anyone who has ever trained under him will tell you the same. Christian has been married for two years and has a daughter in college. He and his wife are active in their church.
